01

The story behind Bored Bills.

Bored Bills was born from a simple idea: people need better places to spend time together.

In a world full of screens, busy schedules, and routine nights out, game night still has a rare power to bring people face-to-face. The challenge is everything around it: choosing the right game, feeding the group, creating the right setting, and giving people a reason to come back.

Bored Bills turns that friction into a place: curated board games, shareable American food, good drinks, weekly programming, memberships, rewards, and private events in one adult-first social lounge.

Founder

Melissa Jackson brings the operating mindset behind Bored Bills.

As founder and CEO of GRID1T, LLC, Melissa has spent more than 15 years leading business and technology initiatives across project management, process improvement, data systems, customer service infrastructure, requirements gathering, and custom application development.

That experience translates directly to hospitality: systems, service, staffing, vendor coordination, customer engagement, and real-time problem solving.

With a B.S. in Accounting, an MBA from the University of Maryland, PMP certification, and hands-on experience supporting restaurant launches in the Washington, D.C. region, Melissa is building Bored Bills with a clear advantage: hospitality in front, smart systems behind it.

03

Design Inspiration

From activity space to adult social lounge.

Light Renovation Strategy Use the existing open plan, bright interior, flexible floor plate, and activity-oriented energy where possible.
Adult-First Atmosphere Bold signage, modern seating, clean lighting, and black, red, gold, and white brand moments shift the space away from kids’ playroom energy.
Game Library Anchor Board games, trading cards, staff picks, event screens, and a food-and-drink counter become the visual draw.
Technology Layer Digital menus, QR ordering, event screens, memberships, and rewards support the experience without taking over the room.

05

The Guest Journey

Built around the table, not the screen.

Guests walk in, find the right game, order without disrupting play, stay longer, and come back for the next reason to gather.

  1. 1 Arrive Walk in and feel the energy.
  2. 2 Choose Find the right game.
  3. 3 Order Keep the round moving.
  4. 4 Play One more turn.
